The Shave for the Brave is an annual fundraising event put on by Young Adult Cancer Canada (see “Young Adult Cancer Canada” tab to learn more about them).  Since 2006, when the Shave for the Brave began, this event has raised over $430,000.  In 2009 alone, 835 generous individuals shaved their heads in support of young adults across Canada who are living with cancer.  Their efforts raised well over $190,000.  These funds are used in the delivery of our supportive events held throughout the year across Canada, including: Retreat Yourself events, workshops, and our Annual Survivor Conference.

2010 will be the first year that there has been a Shave for the Brave event held in Calgary! It will be held on March 6th in South Centre Mall starting at 11am and finishing around 1 or 2 pm. It will be an extremely fun event with local celebrities, an amazing beatboxer Peterpot (winner of the Stampede Talent Search in 2008, www.thepeterpot.com) and of course the first annual Mullet Pageant!! IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO BE APART OF THE MULLET PAGEANT PLEASE EMAIL mike@youngadultcancer.ca A MINIMUM OF ONE WEEK BEFORE THE EVENT. A MINIMUM OF $200 MUST BE RAISED TO ENTER THE PAGEANT AND THERE WILL BE A LIMIT OF 12 CONTESTANTS. ONLY ONE WILL TAKE HOME THE CROWN!!
